Such a beautiful voice of Seema, which rendered a morning raga (melody) – Malayamaarutha in “Sharade daye toride”, fetched her National AKKA award in 2012.
Seema’ s amazing voice impresses across all genre of audiences, as she starts to sing. She is very effective as in Carnatic and also in Creative, contemporary, pop and Bollywood. Her love for in depth study of Carnatic music has led to an unquenchable thirst for new kinds of experimentations with Western and eastern music paradigms.
Seema Kasthuri’s musical education started at the tender age of 8 when her parents recognized her talent to copy any music. She learnt Carnatic music in her home town Hassan under the tutelage of Guru Sharada and Vidwan K.R Venkatesh. She performed with her Guru in and around her hometown and has been part of several programs produced for AIR. When her parents moved to Bangalore, she continued her education with Vid. Chintalapalli Ramesh. Guru Ramesh encouraged Seema to perform at places such as Malur and Sri Veeranjaneya sannidhi in Bangalore
Her music education continued later, with Guru Dr. Nagamani Srinath who inspires her every single day with her vast experience in Raga, Manodharma (improvisation)  and Saahithya bhaava (lyrical appreciation). She also learnt with legendary Ustad Imrat Khan saab of Itawa Gharana.
Seema has performed all across country – Austin, Dallas, New Jersey, New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Nashville, Chicago, Detroit and international cities such as Toronto, Paris, and Bangalore (India). She was invited to perform in major festivals such as St. Louis Indian Music Festival.
Seema’s first devotional music album – Sri Lola was released in 2002 and her new contemporary album Nireeksha was released by well-known scholars and Musicians in August 2013 in Bangalore and has received reviews by popular Sandalwood Music Director Mano Murthy. She also sung in Grammy award winner - Vishwamohan Bhat’s album – “Rainbow 2”.

Work into Music

As a teacher
Seema is the co-artistic director of Soorya Performing Arts and professor of music in SOorya Music School. She has taught more than 200 students - kids, teenagers, adults in USA since 2003.

Everyone has to anticipate someone or something at some point in their life. This music album deals with anticipation of Radha for Krishna; anticipation of rain from the farmer, the anticipation of love to a child from her mother, so on so on.
